From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a carpenter. One of my earliest memories is building a coffee table for my nan — a project I was incredibly proud of! But life had other plans. At 16, I joined the British Army and served in the Army Catering Corps, dedicating years to cooking for Her Majesty’s forces.

After hanging up my spatula, I returned to my first love: woodwork. With the support of my wonderful wife and business partner Karen, I turned my hobby into a full-time business — Moosewood was born.

Working with wood is deeply rewarding. Much like cooking, it’s about crafting something with care and pride. I especially love creating live edge wood tables – each piece is one-of-a-kind, and using reclaimed timber means every creation has a story and a second life.

My mission is simple: to deliver the kind of quality I’d expect as a Moosewood customer - and I carry with me the values instilled during my military service — the three words that guide everything I do:

Everything we make is handmade right here in West Sussex. Because all our furniture is made to order, we don’t keep anything sitting in stock. Each solid wood piece is crafted by hand, so it’s always one‑of‑a‑kind!
